Air India Unveils First Retrofitted A320neo Aircraft.

Air India has unveiled its first retrofitted narrowbody aircraft, marking a major milestone in its ambitious $400 million cabin upgradation program. The Tata Group-owned airline showcased the refurbished A320neo aircraft, registered as VT-EXN, on Monday. This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the interiors of all 67 legacy narrowbody and widebody aircraft in the airline’s fleet.

The extensive refit program aims to elevate the passenger experience with upgraded seats, modern cabin aesthetics, and advanced in-flight amenities. It covers both Airbus and Boeing aircraft, including 40 Boeing planes, as Air India works to transform its fleet to meet global standards. The refurbishment comes as the airline pursues an aggressive growth strategy, aligning with its broader vision to reclaim its position as a leading global carrier.

The newly retrofitted A320neo features redesigned cabins with improved seating arrangements and enhanced passenger comfort. The airline’s modernization drive also reflects its commitment to offering a premium flying experience while optimizing operational efficiency. The upgrades are expected to significantly improve customer satisfaction and position Air India as a competitive player in the international aviation market.

The cabin overhaul is a key component of Air India’s long-term growth plan since being acquired by the Tata Group. With the rebranding efforts underway, the airline aims to merge its legacy with a modern identity, appealing to both domestic and international travelers. The retrofit project will roll out in phases, with more upgraded aircraft joining the fleet over the coming months.

Air India’s investment in the cabin refit program underlines its focus on innovation and customer-centric services. As the airline continues to expand and modernize, passengers can expect a transformed travel experience with state-of-the-art amenities and improved in-flight comfort.
