Airbus Faces Delays in A350 Production Due to Fuselage Parts Shortage.

Airbus is facing challenges in ramping up the production of its A350 jetliner due to delays in the delivery of fuselage parts from its supplier, Spirit AeroSystems. Industry sources have revealed that these delays are hindering the company’s ability to meet its production targets for the A350, with output remaining at around six jets per month for the foreseeable future.

The ongoing delays cast doubt on Airbus’s ability to increase production above current levels, at least for the remainder of this year. Despite this, Airbus remains committed to its long-term goal of reaching a production rate of 12 A350s per month by 2028. However, sources suggest that the delays in the supply of fuselage parts could impact the company’s ability to achieve its 2025 output targets.

In response to inquiries, a spokesperson for Airbus declined to provide specific details on the issue but referred to comments made during its nine-month results in October. During that announcement, Airbus acknowledged ongoing supply chain challenges and reiterated its commitment to its 2028 production target. The company emphasized that it is actively managing these challenges to minimize any disruptions to its production schedule.

As the delays persist, Airbus is working closely with Spirit AeroSystems and other partners to resolve the supply chain issues and ensure that it can meet both its short-term and long-term production goals.
