Akasa Air Pilots Accuse Management of Unfair Practices.

Akasa Air, the airline backed by the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has once again found itself embroiled in controversy as its pilots accuse the management of harassment, unfair practices, and safety concerns. These allegations were formally brought to light in a letter addressed to the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on December 10, 2024, highlighting significant grievances within the airline.

According to the letter, 84 pilots have resigned from Akasa Air on short notice, citing dissatisfaction with the management’s approach. The letter alleges that the airline’s management, under the leadership of Captain Floyd Gracious and his associates, has fostered a demoralizing and hostile training environment. Pilots claim that biased and unprofessional conduct by the management has made the workplace increasingly untenable, prompting widespread discontent.

The letter further outlines concerns about the airline’s operational practices, which pilots believe compromise safety. They argue that these issues stem from a lack of transparency and consistent mismanagement, creating a climate of mistrust and unease among employees.

This marks a significant challenge for Akasa Air, which had positioned itself as a promising entrant in the aviation industry. With these allegations surfacing, the airline’s future operations and reputation are likely to come under intense scrutiny. As investigations unfold, stakeholders will be watching closely to see how the airline addresses these serious concerns.
