In a major development for Bihar, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Union Budget for 2025, announced plans to build a greenfield airport in Rajgir. The decision has sparked a wave of excitement and optimism in the district, especially among local businesses and those connected to the tourism industry. The construction of this airport is expected to provide a significant boost to employment opportunities and accelerate economic growth in the region.

Rajgir, a historic city known for its cultural and religious significance, has long been a focal point for tourism, and the new airport is expected to further enhance its accessibility, attracting more visitors from across the country and abroad. Local businessmen are hopeful that the development will bring in new investment and create jobs, benefitting the local economy. The airport is also anticipated to open up new avenues for trade and commerce, contributing to the overall economic development of the region.

The administration has assured that it will extend full support to the project to ensure its successful implementation. In a positive development, the Bihar government has already identified 901.79 acres of land for the ambitious airport project. As the project moves forward, the hopes of local residents and stakeholders are high, with the greenfield airport poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Rajgir and the surrounding areas.
