Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is advancing its capabilities by planning to integrate Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) technology into its Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH) and Deck-Based Multi-Role Helicopter (DBMRH) programs. This MUM-T concept, which allows manned helicopters to operate in conjunction with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is set to revolutionize the operational potential of these helicopters by enhancing their surveillance, targeting, and reconnaissance abilities, while also reducing risks to pilots in hostile environments.By enabling manned helicopters to interact seamlessly with unmanned drones, HAL aims to provide the Indian Armed Forces with a strategic advantage in complex missions. The MUM-T approach allows the IMRH and DBMRH to extend their operational reach, gathering crucial information from multiple perspectives while remaining at a safe distance from potential threats.
