Hyderabad Airport Sets New Records with Record Passenger Traffic.

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has set new records, further cementing its position as one of India’s busiest and fastest-growing airports. On January 18, 2025, the airport achieved a remarkable milestone, continuing its stellar performance from the previous year. In 2024, RGIA recorded a total passenger traffic of 2.78 crore, reflecting the growing demand for air travel to and from the city.

As per data from GMR Airports Limited, December 2024 was a particularly strong month, with RGIA witnessing record-breaking passenger traffic of 27.05 lakh. This marked a 20% year-on-year (YoY) increase, highlighting the airport’s robust growth trajectory and its ability to handle rising passenger volumes efficiently.

The growth was not limited to December. Throughout 2024, RGIA experienced steady and consistent increases in passenger traffic. January 2024 saw 21.81 lakh passengers, followed by a slight dip in February with 20.77 lakh passengers. However, passenger numbers rebounded in March, reaching 22.16 lakh, and in April, the numbers were slightly lower at 21.96 lakh. In May 2024, the airport saw a significant surge, with passenger traffic rising sharply to 23.91 lakh.

This steady growth in passenger traffic is indicative of the airport’s expanding role in the region’s aviation sector. With state-of-the-art facilities, expanded services, and increased capacity, RGIA is not only meeting the demand but is also setting new benchmarks for operational excellence and efficiency.

The achievement on January 18, 2025, is a testament to Hyderabad airport’s strong performance, and it showcases the airport’s commitment to accommodating the growing air travel demand while providing world-class services. This is a significant accomplishment for both the airport and the region, as it underscores Hyderabad’s growing importance as a key hub in India’s aviation sector.

With these impressive growth trends, RGIA is poised for even greater success in the future, continuing to set new records and becoming a preferred choice for passengers across the globe.
