India Plans New Business Jets for Defence Leaders.

The Ministry of Defence has issued a Request for Information to acquire long-range business jets for senior defence dignitaries and chiefs of the armed forces, marking the beginning of a fleet modernisation program.

The new aircraft will replace the Indian Air Force communication and transport jets that have been in service for nearly two decades. The induction is expected to take place in phases over the coming years.

Officials said the move aims to enhance secure, efficient and long-range air connectivity for top military leadership while improving reliability and mission readiness.

The procurement will follow a detailed evaluation process before final acquisition plans are approved.
