A passenger has alleged severe inconvenience and financial loss following a preponed yet delayed SpiceJet flight, which led to stressful travel conditions and separation from a family member at Mumbai Airport.

According to the passenger, the SpiceJet flight was preponed, forcing their mother to rush to the airport to catch the flight. However, despite boarding on time, the aircraft was delayed and finally departed at 3:10, resulting in prolonged waiting and added stress

    The flight schedule was advanced, compelling passengers to adjust travel plans urgently. Despite this, the flight was later delayed by approximately 50 minutes, negating the purpose of preponement.
  • Refund Policy Concern
    After multiple follow-up calls, airline representatives reportedly stated that a refund would only be issued if the delay exceeded one hour. The passenger alleged that the delay was kept deliberately under one hour to avoid compensation.
  • Baggage Handling Issue
    Upon reaching the airport, Akasa Air ground staff allegedly informed the passenger that their checked-in baggage would arrive on a subsequent flight, citing late check-in as the reason.
  • Financial and Emotional Impact
    The passenger claimed to have suffered monetary loss, time wastage, and mental stress, while their mother had to travel alone from Mumbai, adding to safety and emotional concerns.
