PM Modi Strengthens Defense Ties with France: Rafale, Scorpene, Pinaka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to France marked a significant step in strengthening Indo-French defense ties, with a focus on strategic defense collaborations. During his trip, Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed several high-profile defense projects, including the Rafale fighter jets, Scorpene submarines, and Pinaka rocket systems.

India and France have deepened their defense partnership over the years, with the Rafale jets at the heart of this cooperation. India has already procured 36 Rafale jets from France, and both leaders discussed further collaboration on advanced defense technologies.

The two leaders also focused on enhancing India’s naval capabilities, with discussions surrounding the Scorpene-class submarines, which are designed and built in collaboration with French firms. These submarines play a crucial role in India’s defense strategy, providing advanced undersea warfare capabilities.

Additionally, the Pinaka rocket systems, developed by the Indian Army with assistance from France, were also highlighted. This multi-barrel rocket launcher system enhances India’s artillery precision and range.

PM Modi’s outreach to France underscores India’s commitment to bolstering its defense infrastructure and modernizing its military capabilities, paving the way for greater strategic cooperation between the two nations. The visit further solidifies the Indo-French defense relationship, which continues to grow as both countries focus on shared security and defense interests.
