Tata Group Eyes Indian Navy Helicopter Tender.

Tata Advanced Systems Limited is preparing to compete for the Indian Navy’s Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH) tender with a Made-in-India helicopter platform. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s maritime aviation capabilities through domestic production and global collaboration.

In partnership with Airbus, Tata Advanced Systems plans to offer the Airbus H160M as a locally manufactured solution for the Indian Navy’s requirement of 76 Naval Utility Helicopters.

The proposed platform will be produced in India, supporting the government’s push for indigenous defense manufacturing and boosting the country’s aerospace ecosystem.

If selected, the project would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Navy by replacing older utility helicopters with a modern multi-role platform.

The move highlights growing collaboration between global aerospace companies and Indian industry in advancing the nation’s defense and maritime aviation infrastructure.
