Turkey’s Drone Downs Supersonic Target In Historic First.

Turkey has achieved a major milestone in military aviation as its advanced combat drone successfully destroyed a moving supersonic target. The breakthrough marks a new era in unmanned aerial warfare and highlights the country’s rapidly growing defence technology capabilities.

The historic test demonstrated the drone’s ability to track, engage and neutralise high-speed aerial threats with precision. This capability places Turkey among a select group of nations with advanced air-to-air drone combat technology.

Developed by Baykar, the unmanned platform showcased cutting-edge sensors, smart ammunition and AI-assisted targeting during the trial.

Defence experts say the achievement will significantly enhance air defence operations and future network-centric warfare strategies.

The successful interception not only strengthens Turkey’s indigenous defence programme but also boosts its position in the global UAV export market.
