Air India CEO Campbell Wilson Resigns.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has stepped down from his role, according to sources, marking a major leadership development at the Tata Group-owned carrier. Wilson had been heading the airline since July 2022, playing a key role in its post-privatisation transformation.

Sources reveal that Wilson conveyed his decision to resign directly to the board. However, an official statement from Air India is still awaited, leaving some uncertainty around the timing and transition process.

During his tenure, Wilson led several important initiatives, including large aircraft orders, fleet modernisation, service upgrades, and efforts to reposition Air India as a competitive global airline. His leadership came at a time when the carrier was undergoing a massive overhaul under the Tata Group.

Earlier this year, reports suggested that Tata Group had started exploring potential candidates to lead the airline in the future, despite Wilson’s tenure being scheduled until 2027. His resignation now signals a significant shift in the airline’s leadership strategy.

The development comes at a crucial time as Air India continues its expansion plans and integration efforts, making the appointment of a new CEO a key decision for the airline’s next growth phase.
