Flights from Hisar Airport, the first airport in Haryana, are set to begin operations on Ram Navami, April 6, with the inaugural flight slated to travel to Ayodhya. This marks a significant step forward for the region’s aviation infrastructure, enhancing connectivity for both religious and tourism-related travel. Today, a team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the governing body for civil aviation in India, conducted a thorough inspection of the airport. Their visit focused on evaluating the security protocols, the runway, and other key operational parameters set by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The inspection was an essential step to ensure that Hisar Airport meets all safety and operational standards required for commercial flights. The DGCA team reviewed the runway conditions, navigational aids, and safety measures, along with other vital facilities, as part of the assessment process. This scrutiny is crucial for ensuring the airport can handle both the technical and safety requirements of commercial aviation. With the inspection now completed, officials are hopeful that the airport will receive its license to operate before Holi, which falls in early March. If granted, this would allow Hisar Airport to officially begin offering passenger services. The first flight from Hisar to Ayodhya is expected to be a significant milestone, particularly with the timing of the launch coinciding with Ram Navami, a key religious observance for Hindus. The connection to Ayodhya is expected to be especially popular for pilgrims traveling to the city, enhancing accessibility and fostering religious tourism. The development of Hisar Airport and the subsequent launch of commercial flights reflects Haryana’s growing importance as a hub for air travel, providing more direct connectivity to important destinations. As the airport gears up for its official launch, it is poised to become an essential part of the region’s transportation network, contributing to economic growth and greater accessibility for residents and visitors alike.
