British Airways has stepped in to assist its joint venture partner American Airlines after a major catering disruption at Heathrow Airport affected transatlantic operations.
The issue began when American Airlines faced problems with its third-party catering contractor at Heathrow, leaving the airline unable to load food, beverages, and onboard supplies locally for over a week.
To manage the situation, American Airlines was forced to operate flights with “double catering,” loading meals and supplies for both outbound and return journeys from U.S. airports.
British Airways has now stepped in to provide temporary catering support at Heathrow, helping stabilize operations and reduce disruption for passengers traveling between London and the United States.
