Domestic airline Akasa Air on Friday announced a strategic partnership with Noida International Airport to set up a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the upcoming airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. This move is part of Akasa Air’s plan to strengthen its operational efficiency and expand its aircraft servicing capabilities within India.

The upcoming MRO facility will cater to Akasa Air’s growing fleet and is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the aviation sector. The collaboration also aligns with India’s push to develop local aviation infrastructure and reduce dependence on international MRO services.

Speaking on the partnership, an Akasa Air spokesperson said, “This MRO facility will enhance aircraft maintenance turnaround times, improve safety standards, and support our long-term growth strategy. We are committed to contributing to India’s aviation ecosystem.”

The Noida International Airport authority expressed optimism that the facility would boost regional economic growth and attract further aviation-related investments to the state of Uttar Pradesh. Construction is expected to commence soon, with operations targeted in the coming years.
