Aer Lingus has officially launched its inaugural direct service from Dublin Airport to Raleigh Durham International Airport, marking a major step in expanding its North American operations. The new connection links Ireland directly with North Carolina’s fast-growing Research Triangle region for the first time.

The service operates up to five times a week using the state-of-the-art Airbus A321XLR, known for its extended range and fuel efficiency. This aircraft enables airlines to operate long-haul routes with lower costs while maintaining passenger comfort, making it ideal for thinner transatlantic markets.

With this addition, Raleigh-Durham becomes Aer Lingus’ 23rd destination in North America, further strengthening its Dublin hub strategy. The airline continues to position Dublin as a key gateway between North America and Europe, offering smooth transfers and efficient connections.

Passengers traveling from Raleigh-Durham will now gain access to more than 20 onward destinations across Europe and the UK via Dublin. These include major cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, and Madrid, enhancing travel flexibility and connectivity.

The launch highlights Aer Lingus’ strategic focus on growth through modern aircraft and new routes, while also boosting tourism, business travel, and economic ties between Ireland and the United States.
