Korean Air and Asiana Airlines will begin offering free Starlink-powered in-flight Wi-Fi on selected flights from September 15, 2026, bringing high-speed internet connectivity to passengers across their equipped aircraft. The service will initially be introduced on retrofitted widebody jets.
Korean Air will start with four aircraft — three Airbus A350-900s and one Boeing 777-300ER. These aircraft will primarily operate medium- and long-haul routes to the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia, along with some shorter routes. The airline plans to expand Starlink to most of its operating fleet by the end of 2027.
Asiana will launch the service on 10 aircraft, comprising nine Airbus A350-900s and one A330-300. The airline has confirmed that Starlink Wi-Fi will be free for passengers in all cabin classes, with service available on selected routes operated by equipped aircraft.
Passengers will be able to connect using their personal smartphones, tablets or laptops without installing an app. The service will support web browsing, messaging, streaming, online gaming and cloud-based work. Voice and video calls, as well as live social-media broadcasts, will remain restricted under onboard policies.
