Air Congo has officially welcomed its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registered ET-ASI, marking a major milestone in the airline’s expansion as it enters the long-haul market. The aircraft has been acquired under a wet-lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines.

The Dreamliner becomes Air Congo’s first-ever widebody aircraft and will begin operating four weekly nonstop flights between Kinshasa and Brussels from July 1, 2026. The new service is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Central Africa and Europe while offering passengers a more modern and comfortable travel experience.

With the addition of the Boeing 787-8, Air Congo’s fleet has grown to six aircraft, reflecting the airline’s ambitions to expand its international network. The fuel-efficient Dreamliner is renowned for its long-range capabilities, improved passenger comfort, and lower operating costs, making it well-suited for the Kinshasa–Brussels route.

The delivery represents an important step in Air Congo’s growth strategy and highlights its partnership with Ethiopian Airlines as it continues to build its presence in the regional and international aviation market.
