Air India Express is set to launch a significant new service from Hindon Airport to Kolkata, starting March 1. Hindon, located in the National Capital Region (NCR), has been mainly used by smaller airlines operating short-haul flights. However, with the arrival of Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India and part of the Tata Group, the airport is making a leap into more prominent operations. Air India Express will be the first airline to operate jet-engine aircraft from Hindon, marking a milestone for the airport’s expansion.
The new Kolkata-Hindon route will operate daily, offering convenience to travelers in both cities. Flights from Kolkata will depart at 7:10 AM and arrive at Hindon at 9:30 AM. The return flight from Hindon will leave at 5:20 PM, arriving back in Kolkata at 7:40 PM. There will be no flights on Saturdays, with operations running six days a week for the return journey.
This new service will significantly improve connectivity between Kolkata and the NCR, making it easier for passengers to travel between these two major cities. The introduction of a jet-engine airliner by Air India Express is also expected to bring a higher level of comfort and reliability, attracting more passengers to the growing Hindon Airport. This is a step toward enhancing Hindon’s role as an important hub for regional and domestic air travel, offering more flight options for the increasing number of travelers in the region.
