An Air India flight travelling from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad after a bomb threat was reported on board.
According to police, a crew member reportedly discovered a suspicious note on a tissue paper with the word “BOMB” written in English and immediately alerted the pilot. Following established safety procedures, the aircraft was diverted to Ahmedabad, where emergency agencies were placed on alert.
After landing, CISF personnel, fire brigade teams, bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog teams surrounded the aircraft and carried out a detailed security inspection. The authorities followed standard security protocols to ensure the aircraft and passengers were safe.
The incident caused concern among passengers and airport authorities, while security teams continued their checks to determine whether the threat was genuine or a hoax. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
