Air India has successfully restored its last grounded aircraft, marking a major milestone in its post-privatisation turnaround under the Tata Group.
The aircraft, VT-ALL, a Boeing 777-300ER, has now returned to active service, completing the revival of 30 long-grounded planes inherited when the airline transitioned back to Tata Group ownership in 2022.
These aircraft were part of a legacy fleet of 113 planes, many of which had remained inactive for years. Air India invested heavily in maintenance, refurbishment, and operational upgrades to bring them back into service and strengthen its fleet capabilities.
With VT-ALL back in the skies, the airline has closed a crucial chapter in its fleet restoration program, reinforcing its commitment to improving reliability, expanding capacity, and rebuilding its global aviation presence.
