Air India is set to inaugurate a new direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Mumbai, strengthening its connectivity between India and Israel. The announcement comes less than a week after the airline revealed the resumption of flights to Israel, underscoring its commitment to expanding its international network. Air India’s CEO, Campbell Wilson, shared the news with Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, confirming that the airline plans to launch the Tel Aviv-Mumbai route well before 2026. He assured that the necessary logistics, as well as aircraft inventory, were being arranged to facilitate the new service.

Although tickets for the direct flights are not yet available for booking on Air India’s website, passengers can currently purchase return fares for Tel Aviv-Mumbai flights with a stopover in Delhi, set to operate from March 2025. These indirect flights offer an alternative for travelers eager to book their journey, with the added convenience of connecting through Delhi.

The launch of the Tel Aviv-Mumbai route will provide a much-needed direct connection between India and Israel, making travel more efficient for both business and leisure passengers. This development is part of Air India’s broader strategy to enhance its presence in the Middle East and Asia, taking advantage of the increasing demand for flights between the two countries.

By introducing this new route, Air India aims to not only strengthen bilateral ties but also boost tourism and trade between India and Israel. The airline’s expansion is a significant step in positioning itself as a major player in the global aviation market, with a focus on catering to both long-standing and emerging travel demands.
