Air India Unveils First Retrofitted B787-8.

Air India has welcomed its first retrofitted Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registered as VT-ANT, marking a major milestone in the airline’s fleet modernization program. This aircraft is the first of 26 Dreamliners undergoing a complete nose-to-tail cabin upgrade, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort on long-haul routes.

The extensive retrofit work was carried out at Boeing’s Modification Center in Victorville, where the aircraft received a fully refreshed interior. Following this, it was repainted in Air India’s new livery at AeroPro in San Bernardino.

After completing all necessary regulatory approvals, the aircraft operated a non-stop ferry flight from San Bernardino to Delhi. The flight traversed the Pacific before landing successfully at 22:44 hrs, marking its return to service readiness.

This upgraded Dreamliner will soon be deployed on key long-haul routes connecting India with destinations across the UK, Europe, the United States, and the Far East, offering passengers an improved and modernized flying experience.
