The Airlines Operators Committee (AOC) has opposed Mumbai International Airport Ltd’s (MIAL) proposed reallocation of international air traffic for the Summer 2027 (S27) schedule, stating that the plan has not received collective consent from airlines and should not be treated as a final decision.
The objections follow a communication issued by MIAL’s Chief Airport Officer’s office after a meeting with airline representatives on October 13 at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai.
According to the AOC’s position, the proposed changes cannot be considered settled without collective airline agreement. The disagreement highlights the importance of consultation between airport management and airlines when planning international flight schedules and allocating airport capacity.
The outcome could influence how international air traffic is distributed at Mumbai airport during the Summer 2027 scheduling season. Further discussions between MIAL and airline representatives may be needed to address the objections and establish a mutually accepted plan.
