Alaska Airlines has announced two new nonstop routes from Seattle, launching flights to Athens and Paris in 2027 as the airline rapidly expands its international network.
The Seattle–Athens service will begin May 12, 2027, followed by Seattle–Paris on May 25, 2027. Both routes will be operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The Athens route will mark the first-ever nonstop service between Seattle and Athens by any airline and will also become the longest route Alaska Airlines has operated. The airline will use flight number AS196, referencing 1896, the year of the first modern Olympic Games.
The Paris service will operate as AS136, inspired by the city’s 136 museums. The new routes come as Alaska Airlines continues its rapid expansion into international markets, following its recent launches to Rome, London and Reykjavik.
By spring 2027, Alaska Airlines is expected to serve seven intercontinental destinations, with further international expansion planned through 2030.
