A Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by 21 Air for Amazon Prime Air overran the runway while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday, September 6. The aircraft, registered N1997A, reportedly crossed the airport perimeter, struck several vehicles and caught fire.
At least five people were killed and five others were injured, including three critically, according to local authorities. Emergency crews responded with more than 60 units, while the pilot and co-pilot were reportedly trapped inside the aircraft.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the accident. The cause of the runway overrun remains unknown, and authorities are continuing to assess the aircraft damage and circumstances surrounding the crash.
