American Airlines Expands Starlink Wi-Fi to 1,000+ Aircraft.

American Airlines has announced an expansion of its Starlink Wi-Fi rollout to cover its entire mainline fleet, adding Boeing aircraft to the Airbus jets already included in its original plan.

The initial rollout covered more than 500 Airbus aircraft. Under the expanded plan, Starlink will also be installed on more than 400 Boeing narrowbody aircraft and over 130 Boeing widebody aircraft, bringing the total to more than 1,000 mainline aircraft.

Installations are expected to begin in early 2027. Starlink uses low Earth orbit satellites to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity, allowing passengers to stream videos, browse the web, work online, play games and communicate in real time during flights.

The expansion aims to provide a more consistent internet experience across American Airlines’ mainline fleet, improving connectivity for passengers on both domestic and international journeys.
