American Airlines Unveils New DFW Gates.

American Airlines and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport have unveiled nine newly modernized gates at Terminal C, marking the first major milestone in a $3 billion redevelopment project at the airline’s largest hub.

Officially opened on June 8, the new pier includes four brand-new gates and five fully reconstructed gates. The project utilized innovative modular construction techniques, with large preassembled sections transported across the airfield and lifted into place. The facility also introduces one of the first large-scale deployments of electronic boarding gates in the U.S. airline industry.

The Terminal C modernization is part of a long-term transformation project scheduled for completion in 2030. Once finished, the terminal will cover more than one million square feet and feature 32 gates, making it one of the largest single-airline terminal facilities in the United States. The project will also include upgrades to check-in areas, security checkpoints, baggage systems, restrooms, dining options, and retail spaces.

Terminal C has served travelers at DFW for more than 50 years and remains American Airlines’ busiest terminal, handling nearly 200 daily departures. DFW continues to play a central role in the airline’s global network, serving millions of passengers annually and connecting travelers to more than 230 destinations worldwide.
