AVEVA has completed its first major purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates (SAFc), moving significantly ahead in meeting its World Economic Forum (WEF) First Movers Coalition commitment. The step brings the company in line with its aviation sustainability target five years earlier than planned. The move highlights AVEVA’s growing role in accelerating climate action across industries.

  • Early Fulfilment of WEF Commitment:
AVEVA’s SAF certificate purchase aligns the company with its First Movers Coalition aviation goal, achieving the target well ahead of its original timeline.
  • Support for Sustainable Aviation Fuel:
As part of the WEF FMC Aviation group, AVEVA committed to replacing at least 5% of conventional jet fuel demand with Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
  • Partnership with British Airways:
The SAF certificates were purchased from British Airways for use at London Heathrow Airport, supporting real-world deployment of lower-emission aviation fuel.
  • EcoCeres Supply Agreement:
British Airways has a multi-year agreement with EcoCeres, a renewable fuels producer supplying SAF, HVO and renewable naphtha, to help power 10% of its flights with SAF by 2030.
  • Strong Emissions Reduction Progress:
AVEVA has already cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by over 93% and is on track to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030.
  • Technology Enabling Sustainability:
EcoCeres also uses AVEVA’s software to optimise SAF production, highlighting how digital solutions can support large-scale decarbonisation in aviation.
  • Leadership in Climate Action:
The milestone positions AVEVA among leading technology-driven climate impact makers advancing sustainable aviation and industrial decarbonisation.
