A flight operated by Arkia Israeli Airlines from Greece to Israel became the subject of controversy after cabin crew reportedly discovered baby rats inside a service trolley during the flight.
A video of the discovery spread quickly on social media, raising concerns among passengers and aviation users. Arkia said the trolley came from the dry storage section of catering provider TMM, which operates facilities at Ben Gurion Airport.
The airline stated that the trolley did not contain food intended for passengers and was immediately removed from service after the rodents were found. Arkia called the incident serious and requested a full investigation along with preventive measures.
TMM denied responsibility, saying the trolley only contained soft drinks and had been inspected before departure by both catering staff and an Arkia crew member. The company argued that equipment checks before onboard use are also the airline’s responsibility.
Both sides continue to dispute how the infestation occurred, while an investigation is underway to determine where the issue originated.
