Turkish defense company Baykar has officially unveiled its new K2 long-range kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on March 14, marking a significant addition to its growing portfolio of advanced drone systems.

The K2 was introduced through a promotional video following a series of multi-sortie test flights conducted over the Saros Gulf from the company’s flight test center in Keşan, Edirne Province. During these trials, five K2 drones successfully executed autonomous swarm flights in multiple formations, including V-shape, line, right echelon, and wall configurations, all without direct human control.

According to Baykar, the K2 is designed as the largest loitering munition in its class, combining extended range with cost-effective production. Its AI-driven swarm capability allows multiple drones to coordinate and strike targets efficiently, reducing reliance on expensive precision-guided weapons.

The introduction of the K2 highlights the growing importance of autonomous systems in modern warfare, offering enhanced flexibility and scalability for targeting high-value threats on the battlefield.
