Boeing To Open Fourth 737 MAX Production Line.

Boeing is set to reach another major milestone in its production recovery efforts as the company prepares to open a new 737 MAX assembly line in Everett, Washington, on July 6. The facility, known as the North Line, will become Boeing’s fourth production line for the popular narrowbody aircraft and the first located outside its longtime 737 manufacturing hub in Renton.

The announcement was made by Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, who said the company is taking a measured approach to increasing production. The new line will initially operate at a low production rate, allowing Boeing to focus on maintaining quality, safety, and manufacturing stability before gradually ramping up output.

The Everett facility will primarily assemble the Boeing 737 MAX 10, the largest variant of the MAX family, while also supporting production of the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9. Once fully operational, the additional line is expected to help Boeing move beyond its current production target of 47 aircraft per month.

The expansion reflects Boeing’s confidence in the long-term demand for fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft as airlines worldwide continue to modernize and grow their fleets. For the Everett workforce, the move is particularly significant, marking the first time 737 aircraft will be assembled at a site historically associated with Boeing’s larger widebody programs.
