Passengers aboard Emirates flight EK123 from Dubai to Istanbul were surprised when water reportedly began pouring from the ceiling of the Airbus A380 during the flight. Some passengers were seen holding blankets over their heads to protect themselves from the dripping water.
The exact cause of the leak has not been confirmed, but the unusual incident created a striking scene inside the cabin. Similar instances of water appearing to flow between the A380’s upper and lower decks have been reported previously.
The aircraft’s double-decker design can create unique challenges when water enters areas where it should not. A blockage or leak on the upper deck can potentially allow water to travel down into the main-deck cabin, including Economy Class.
