HDMC Officers Visit India’s Aircraft Carrier Vikrant.

Nearly 190 officers from the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-21) recently visited India’s indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to gain insights into the capabilities of the country’s premier naval platform. The visit included officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, highlighting the importance of international military cooperation and knowledge sharing.

During the visit, the delegation received a detailed briefing on the design, operational capabilities, and strategic significance of the aircraft carrier. Officials explained how the carrier enhances India’s maritime strength and supports a wide range of naval missions across the Indian Ocean region.

The officers were also introduced to the concept of carrier aviation and its crucial role in modern naval warfare. Discussions covered aircraft launch and recovery operations, maritime surveillance, and how carrier-based aircraft help extend naval reach far from the coastline.

The interaction provided participants with valuable exposure to India’s growing naval capabilities and the role of indigenous defence technology in strengthening maritime security. The visit also highlighted the Indian Navy’s commitment to professional military education and international collaboration.
