Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has introduced a new initiative aimed at streamlining the immigration process for Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The ‘Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme’ (FTI-TTP) was virtually inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday, marking a significant step towards enhancing travel convenience at the airport.

The FTI-TTP programme is designed to expedite the immigration clearance process, allowing eligible passengers to bypass long queues and proceed through a faster, more efficient channel. This initiative aims to reduce waiting times, improve passenger experience, and make the process of international travel smoother for those who frequently travel abroad.

The programme is open to Indian passport holders and OCI cardholders who meet the eligibility criteria, offering them the privilege of a faster clearance at the immigration counters. By leveraging advanced technology, the FTI-TTP uses biometric data to facilitate quicker and seamless processing for enrolled passengers, helping to reduce congestion during peak travel times.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing India’s airport infrastructure and improving the ease of travel for Indian citizens. He also highlighted that the introduction of such programmes would bring India’s airports in line with global standards, offering a modern and efficient travel experience.

With the introduction of the FTI-TTP, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has further solidified its commitment to enhancing passenger convenience and operational efficiency, paving the way for a more comfortable and hassle-free travel experience for frequent international travelers.
