The Ministry of Civil Aviation has unveiled the second phase of Flight Training Organisation (FTO) rankings, aiming to strengthen India’s pilot training ecosystem and improve overall aviation standards.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu emphasized that India’s aviation sector is on a rapid growth path, with increasing demand for trained pilots as the country expands its airline network and fleet size.
The updated rankings are designed to bring greater transparency, encourage healthy competition among training institutes, and help aspiring pilots choose high-quality academies. The initiative also aligns with the government’s broader goal of enhancing safety, efficiency, and global competitiveness in aviation training.
Officials highlighted that over the next five years, India’s aviation landscape is expected to witness significant expansion, with large-scale aircraft inductions and rising passenger traffic. Strengthening pilot training capacity through such reforms is seen as a crucial step in supporting this growth.
