A contingent of the Indian Armed Forces has departed to participate in the 11th edition of Exercise Lamitiye, a joint military exercise between India and Seychelles. The exercise will take place from March 9 to March 20, 2026, at the Seychelles Defence Academy.
This year’s edition marks the first Tri-Services participation, involving personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exercise will focus on improving joint operational capabilities and coordinated responses in semi-urban environments to counter hostile threats.
Exercise Lamitiye aims to strengthen interoperability between the two countries’ forces through tactical drills, training exchanges, and operational planning.
The exercise also highlights the growing defence cooperation and strategic partnership between India and Seychelles, particularly in maintaining security and stability across the Indian Ocean Region.
