IndiGo Flight Diverted to Hyderabad After Power Bank Fire.

An IndiGo flight, 6E 6115, operating from Delhi to Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad on October 11 after a passenger’s power bank caught fire inside the aircraft’s overhead luggage compartment. The incident prompted the crew to take immediate action to ensure passenger safety.

The cabin crew responded quickly and managed to control the fire. The aircraft was then diverted to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, where it landed safely. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Following the diversion, IndiGo arranged an alternative aircraft to transport passengers to Chennai and help them continue their journey. The incident once again highlights the safety risks associated with lithium-ion batteries and the importance of following airline rules for carrying power banks onboard.
