An IndiGo flight carrying 161 passengers made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport after experiencing an engine failure mid-flight on Saturday morning . Authorities declared a full emergency, ensuring all safety protocols were in place.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737 operating as flight 6E 579 from Visakhapatnam to Delhi, was safely landed, and all passengers were evacuated without any injuries. Fire tenders were immediately deployed after the alert was received at 10:54 AM .
The plane was wet-leased from Corendon Airlines, part of IndiGo’s short-term fleet arrangement. No damage has been reported, and further investigation into the engine issue is underway.
