IndiGo, India’s largest airline by fleet and market share, has announced the opening of reservations for flights to Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Starting from February 20, 2025, this new route will mark IndiGo’s 38th international station.
This addition will make Madinah the airline’s fourth destination in Saudi Arabia, joining Jeddah, Dammam, and Riyadh. Currently, IndiGo connects Dammam to cities like Lucknow, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kozhikode, and Mumbai; Jeddah to Hyderabad, Delhi, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru; and Riyadh to Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai. Notably, Hyderabad will be the only station connected to all four of IndiGo’s Saudi Arabian destinations.
Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (IATA: MED) serves Madinah, one of the holiest cities in Islam and a major destination for pilgrims, particularly during the Hajj and Umrah periods. Given the city’s significance and its annual influx of millions of visitors, the new flight service is expected to provide crucial connectivity for both pilgrims and other travelers.
IndiGo’s expansion into Madinah reinforces the airline’s commitment to increasing its international presence, especially to key destinations for religious tourism and business. With the addition of this route, the airline strengthens its network in the Middle East, offering more travel options for passengers heading to one of Islam’s most revered cities.
