Japan Airlines (JAL) and Gulf Air have signed on to JetZero‘s Z4 blended wing body (BWB) aircraft program, supporting the development of one of aviation’s most innovative next-generation passenger aircraft.
JetZero’s Z4 is being designed as the world’s first commercial blended wing body aircraft, capable of carrying 250 passengers over a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles. The revolutionary design is expected to deliver a 30–50% improvement in fuel efficiency compared with today’s commercial aircraft, significantly reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The partnership marks another step toward the future of sustainable aviation, with both airlines supporting technologies aimed at improving operational efficiency and environmental performance. If successfully developed and certified, the Z4 could reshape long-haul air travel with lower operating costs, increased passenger comfort, and a more environmentally friendly aircraft design.
