Kuwait Airport Shuts After Missile Strike.

Kuwait suspended all air traffic on Wednesday after Iranian missile and drone strikes hit Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, causing casualties and damage to airport infrastructure. Authorities immediately activated emergency response procedures and diverted incoming and outgoing flights to nearby airports.

According to Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the airport’s emergency plan was put into effect following the attack. Security and technical measures are being implemented to protect passengers, staff, and critical airport facilities while damage assessments continue.

DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said flight operations will remain suspended until further notice as authorities evaluate the extent of the damage and carry out necessary repairs. Technical teams have begun inspections to determine when the airport can safely resume operations.

The attack marks another escalation in regional tensions and has disrupted air travel across the Gulf region. Several flights were diverted as aviation authorities prioritized safety while emergency crews responded to the incident at the airport.
