A ramp worker at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport was seriously injured Monday night after being struck by a French Bee Airbus A350 during ground operations.
The worker, reportedly a signaller, was involved in the aircraft’s pushback for a scheduled flight to Paris-Orly when the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. local time. Emergency services responded and the employee was taken to hospital.
The exact sequence of events has not yet been established. French Bee said it was cooperating with Canadian authorities and other parties investigating the incident, while prioritizing the care of those affected.
The accident caused a major delay to the Montreal–Paris flight, which eventually departed after midnight. Montreal police and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are involved in the investigation.
