NASA has postponed the launch of its historic Artemis II mission after last-minute technical concerns were detected. The Orion crew vehicle was fully prepared for liftoff, but safety checks forced a delay. The rocket will now be moved back for further inspection and repairs.
The mission was set to mark humanity’s first crewed journey toward the Moon in more than five decades. Four astronauts will travel farther into space than any human crew in history once the launch takes place.
Engineers identified critical technical problems during final evaluations at the launch pad. To ensure complete safety, the space agency decided to roll the rocket back instead of taking any risks.
The vehicle will return to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center, where teams will carry out detailed testing and necessary fixes before announcing a new launch date.
