Noida Airport Appoints Interim CEO.

Noida International Airport has appointed Nitu Samra as its interim Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect, marking a key leadership transition at Asia’s largest upcoming international airport project.

The change comes after a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), which mandates that the CEO of any airport in India must be an Indian national. This requirement led to the exit of Christoph Schnellmann, a Swiss national who had been serving in the role.

Schnellmann had led the airport project since August 2020, playing a crucial role in the development of the greenfield airport. The project is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.

The appointment of Samra is expected to ensure compliance with regulatory norms while maintaining continuity in the airport’s development. The Noida International Airport project remains a significant addition to India’s aviation infrastructure, aimed at boosting regional connectivity and handling growing passenger demand.
