Police have registered a case against a passenger for allegedly smoking a beedi inside the lavatory of an Akasa Air flight traveling from Delhi to Goa. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday during flight QP1625, according to officials.
The accused, identified as Ashish, a resident of Delhi, was traveling on the flight when the incident occurred. As per the airline’s complaint, the passenger allegedly smoked a beedi inside the aircraft toilet during the journey.
Airline staff later discovered that the passenger was also carrying a lighter, which could pose a safety risk on board the aircraft. Smoking on flights is strictly prohibited due to potential fire hazards and safety concerns.
Following the complaint by Akasa Air, local police registered a case and launched further investigation into the incident. Authorities stated that such actions can endanger the safety of passengers and crew members during flight operations.
