Passenger Opens Exit, Jumps at Chennai Airport.

A shocking incident unfolded at Chennai International Airport early Sunday when a passenger on an Air Arabia flight arriving from Sharjah opened an emergency exit after landing and jumped onto the runway.

The aircraft, an Airbus A320, was taxiing toward the terminal at around 3:23 a.m. when the incident occurred. The pilot immediately halted the aircraft and alerted airport authorities. The passenger then attempted to run toward a restricted commercial area, triggering brief panic before security personnel quickly apprehended him.

The individual, identified as 19-year-old Mohd Shareef Mohd Nazamuddin, sustained injuries during the jump and was taken for medical treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation, including an assessment of his mental condition.

The incident led to the temporary closure of the main runway, disrupting several flight operations. A British Airways flight arriving from London was diverted to Bengaluru. Officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the breach.
