Singapore will soon host a new international cabin crew base of Qantas Airways, as the carrier strengthens its long-haul network and boosts operations through Singapore Changi Airport. The facility, scheduled to open in September, will be the airline’s first such crew hub outside Australia and is part of its broader global expansion strategy.
In the initial phase, Qantas plans to hire around 120 cabin crew members, with the number expected to grow to nearly 650 over the next five years. The recruitment drive will focus on Singapore citizens and permanent residents, offering market-competitive salary packages and long-term career opportunities in international aviation.
The Singapore-based crew will primarily operate flights between Singapore and Australia, improving operational flexibility and helping the airline manage ultra-long-haul schedules more efficiently. The move will also support increased Airbus A380 services from Sydney, reflecting rising premium travel demand on key routes.
By expanding its presence in Singapore — already its largest overseas hub — Qantas aims to enhance connectivity, reduce turnaround constraints and strengthen customer service standards across its global network.
