Qantas and Cairns Airport celebrated a major milestone today with the first-ever departure of a QantasLink Airbus A220 from Cairns. The launch marks another step in the airline’s ongoing fleet modernization program across regional Australia.
The aircraft featured the eye-catching “Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa” livery, which honors Indigenous culture and storytelling through a unique design inspired by traditional art. The special livery stood out against the scenic backdrop of Mount Whitfield during the historic departure.
QantasLink’s Airbus A220 fleet is expected to play a key role in enhancing passenger comfort and operational efficiency on regional routes.
