A flight operated by Southwest Airlines traveling from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale was forced to divert late Friday night after a reported security threat onboard the aircraft.
The flight was redirected and safely landed at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the United States. Upon arrival, local law enforcement officials boarded the aircraft to investigate the situation and ensure passenger safety.
Authorities removed one passenger from the plane as part of the security response. Officials confirmed that the situation was handled quickly and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
The diversion was carried out as a precautionary measure, highlighting the strict safety protocols followed by airlines and airport authorities when potential security threats arise during flights
